Sumbit your program proposal for the Student Affairs Inclusive Excellence Symposium on April 16, 2026. All student affairs practitioners are invited to submit a presentation proposal that aligns with the core tenants of the Student Affairs Inclusive Excellence Committee--creating a welcoming enviroment, cultural education of students or developing staff's cultural understanding. Breakout sessions at the symposium will be 45 minutes in length. Share your expertise with the rest of Student Affairs!

The symposium will feature Illinois student affairs professionals who wil present innovative and practical ideas and the programs will support the continued development of our welcoming environment. Treaties for Treatment: How Urban American Indians Navigate the Federal Healthcare Promise; Research regarding Urban Indian (American Indians living in cities or major metropolitan areas) healthcare access and experiences remains largely unexplored. This project takes and examines healthcare experiences such as accessing care (IHS and non-HIS care alike) to experiences with delivery of care itself in a sample with 38 Urban Indians. Presenter: Kiana Wilkins (Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs), Ph.D.

Interested in developing your leadership, communication and problem-solving skills? Applications are open for our neighborhood assistant positions for the 2026 – 2027 academic year! The deadline to apply is noon on Monday, March 16. Neighborhood assistants are part-time paraprofessional staff members who live in an assigned apartment in one of three complexes: Ashton Woods, Goodwin-Green or Orchard Downs. NAs serve as valuable campus resources and have many different responsibilities throughout the apartment community. Both undergraduate and graduate students invited to apply!
