The First-Generation Steering Committee is pleased to announce that the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is officially a FirstGen Forward Network Champion! We are 1 of 18 inducted this year and 1 of 32 institutions to achieve this status! Network Champion institutions are an exclusive group serving as national leaders in advancing first-generation efforts and contributing to an important knowledge base of evidence-based practices, leadership engagement, and scaling student supports. The Gender Sexuality and Resource Center (GSRC) is now located at 616 E. Green Street.  The new space includes the Q-Closet, a clothing closet where Trans, Queer and Gender Non-Conforming students can find free clothing, accessories and Trans, Queer, Gender Non-Conforming necessities (i.e. chest binders, waist cinchers, and tucking underwear) to ease the anxiety and dysphoria they may experience when exploring and/or developing their authentic selves. Learn more about the Q-Closet.
