BNAACC received the 2024 Kuumba Innovative Program of the Year Award from The Association for Black Cultural Centers. The program was created by directors at BNAACC, the Diversity Center at UIS and UIC's Black Cultural Center. Drawing from their respective centers and campus archives, the program traces each center’s history, highlighting the role played by students and communities in establishing centers that support Black students, who have been historically underrepresented and marginalized at Predominantly White Institutions.
