Only two weeks left to apply for the fall 2026 Illinois Supervisory Skills Program. In this cohort-based program, participants engage with peers from across campus to gain self-awareness of their management style and develop critical leadership skills. Open to employees with at least a 75%-time appointment who supervise status or student employees.

The Illinois Leadership Center is seeking individuals interested in serving as a small group facilitator for the 2026-2027 academic year. Facilitators assist with leadership labs and providing feedback on student submissions as well as facilitating conversation with groups of 7-9 students for in-person program components. The 2026 Dennis H. May Mental Health Conference on Belonging in Higher Education theme is "Radical Reimagining: From Student Resilience to Institutional Responsibility." Suggested areas for proposals include strategies for supporting historically marginalized communities, culturally responsive mental health practices in higher education, fostering care, belonging, and community healing, navigating mental health within the context of systemic inequities and social justice, and innovative approaches to resilience, balance, and mental well-being. Each session features a short interactive lesson or activity, followed by a refreshing walk on paved paths. Each session will take place from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at various locations in Champaign-Urbana. Walks will take place at West Side Park, Crystal Lake Park, Champaign Farmers Market Parking Lot, and Meadowbrook Park. NCSA is hosting a hands-on workshop on "Scaling Quantum Simulation on HPC Clusters with PennyLane." The instructor is Daniel Nino from Xanadu. Registrants will be added to a training allocation for the workshop if they do not already have DeltaAI allocations. Register by June 19.

Healthy adults ages 18-40 with no hearing loss but significant difficulty hearing in noise are invited for a study on listening in noise. There is an online survey to determine eligibility followed by lab visits for those who qualify. Lab visits include hearing screening, listening to sounds, and measuring ear and brain activity. There is a maximum of three lab visits, each lasting 2-3 hours. Compensation for lab visits is paid in cash ($15 per hour). Parking is covered, and mileage is reimbursed ($0.655 per mile, up to a maximum of 37.5 miles per visit). To participate, complete our survey.

The Alcohol Research Lab is looking for social drinkers to participate in a study that examines the effects of alcohol on brain activity as well as social and cognitive processes. Participation involves attending one 6- to 9-hour laboratory session and completing physiological and communicative tasks while EEG brain responses are recorded. A referral of at least one same-gender friend is required at the time of sign-up. Up to $100 in compensation.

The PLAY Lab is looking for children starting kindergarten or first grade in fall 2026 to participate in a year-long study. Participation involves attending five laboratory sessions over one year and completing some motor tasks and cognitive tasks some while various brain responses are recorded. Help make the Next Alcohol Fitbit! The Alcohol Research Lab is looking for participants for a validation study of transdermal biosensing bracelets, and we will be running sessions over the summer. Participation involves attending three laboratory sessions, wearing at least two transdermal bracelets (on your non-dominant hand), and filling out surveys for two weeks. Up to $400 in compensation for participation.

The University Academic Alliance in Taiwan and the University of Illinois System are seeking proposals for a joint research project for institutional research scientists. Priority focus areas for the program include semiconductor and quantum, artificial intelligence, and data across all fields. Applications should be jointly submitted by both UAAT and Illinois faculty. Each approved project will receive a total grant of $150,000. There will be an information partnering webinar on June 24 (RSVP by June 19). Funding period is one year, starting from Dec. 1. Submit a proposal by Aug. 14.
