University High School is seeking a substitute teacher in the physical education department from Aug. 13-Nov. 10. This is a paid position and an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in coaching, athletics or teaching. The substitute will be responsible for teaching three PE periods during the school day: 1st, 7th and 8th periods. Automatic renewals for I-Share and local library materials will be activated starting July 28. Eligible materials will be renewed, extending their loan period without requiring manual intervention from the user. Patrons will receive an email notification detailing which items have been renewed and their new due dates. For materials not eligible for automatic renewal, the standard "courtesy notice" email will still be sent as the due date approaches. 

Due to construction, the Turner Student Services Building and Arcade Building will be closed from July 28-Aug. 1. These offices will be closed but operating remotely: Counseling Center, Student Conflict Resolution, Jeffries Center, Dean of Students, Connie Frank Care Center, Fraternity and Sorority Affairs, Off-Campus Community Living, The Career Center. Student Financial Aid will be temporarily relocated to the Admissions and Records Building and will be available to meet with students from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 28–Aug. 1.

Reservation bookings are NOW OPEN for the Technology Services ICS computer classrooms for the spring and summer 2026 semesters. Classroom labs provide instructors and students with current computers, up to date software, on-site help, audiovisual equipment and collaboration stations. Reservations can be made online for individual dates or recurring times throughout the semester.

IHSI invites you to the 2025 Community-Academic Scholars poster session on from 10-11:30 a.m. Aug. 6, hosted in partnership with community partner Sola Gratia Farm at St. Matthew Lutheran Church (2200 Philo Road, Urbana). The 18 Community-Academic Scholars have worked with academic mentors and a mentor from a community organization this summer to address critical community issues in Champaign County and beyond. We are seeking volunteers for the 2nd Annual Central Illinois Bat Festival. Last year, we held the inaugural event and over 800 eager community members showed up to participate and learn about the awesomeness of bats. We are hoping for an even larger turnout this year. The PLAY Lab is looking for participants 30 and above to participate in our study. Participation involves attending two 2-hour laboratory sessions, spread across a minimum of seven days and completing some motor tasks and cognitive tasks some while various brain responses are recorded.
