SMS for Duo unavailable starting July 14

If you use SMS passcodes when signing in to university resources with Duo, you will need to select a different option before July 14. SMS passcodes are the least secure option when using multi-factor authentication. To help better protect resources from cyber criminals, the university is removing the SMS option beginning July 14.

2025 Summer Construction Projects – Map and Summaries

The Urbana campus will be the site of more than 50 active construction projects this summer. These upgrades to facilities and infrastructure are vital to meeting the university’s strategic goals and include classroom and laboratory modernizations, roof replacements, accessibility improvements, street repairs, life-safety advancements, restroom enhancements and utilities system revitalization in support of energy production, distribution and conservation efforts. A comprehensive list of major capital improvement projects, along with a corresponding map, is available on the F&S website.

2025 Homecoming Court Nominations

The Homecoming Court is composed of 20 student leaders in senior standing who are selected based on their academic leadership and community involvement. If your building provides a dedicated space for lactating parents, please consider submitting information about your space for inclusion in the Campus Lactation Guide. The Campus Lactation Guide is maintained by the Women's Resources Center as a resource for parents looking for options to express milk. After submitting the form, a member of the WRC team will reach out to schedule a site visit before adding the space to the public guide. The Campus Lactation Guide is updated biannually. Please submit your space by July 31 for inclusion in this year's edition.

Virtual Reality to Support Engagement Opportunities - Usability Study

The Human Factors and Aging Laboratory at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is seeking older adult participants, aged 65+ for an IRB-Approved research study to examine usability and acceptance of a custom and commercial virtual reality app to support social connectivity and engagement. Seeking adults ages 18-25 without significant difficulty hearing in noise

Healthy adults ages 18-25 with no hearing loss and no significant difficulty hearing in noise are invited for a study on listening in noise. There is an online survey to determine eligibility followed by lab visits for those who qualify. Lab visits include hearing screening, listening to sounds and measuring ear and brain activity. There is a maximum of three lab visits, each lasting 2-3 hours. Compensation for lab visits is paid in cash ($15 per hour). Parking is covered, and mileage is reimbursed ($0.655 per mile, up to a maximum of 37.5 miles per visit). To participate, complete our survey.

Mindful Eating Intervention for African American women

Are you an African American woman? Do you have gestational diabetes and experience persistent symptoms of stress, sadness, low mood and other sad emotions? If so, participate in our study to help researchers identify the components needed to develop a mindful eating intervention specifically for you. Study on children’s movement and brain health

The PLAY Lab is looking for children starting kindergarten or first grade in the fall to participate in a year-long study. Participation involves attending five laboratory sessions over one year and completing some motor tasks and cognitive tasks some while various brain responses are recorded. To understand how personal experience is related to how people read, we invite teens (14-17) who speak English at home for a series of in-person and online studies.
