Organized by the Mayo Clinic and Illinois Alliance for Technology-Based Healthcare and held virtually June 23-27, this one-week course will introduce Mayo Clinic and Illinois faculty, staff and students to the basics of computational genomics and the tools and methodologies used to analyze genomic data. The 2025 course will include synchronous and self-paced sessions led by Illinois and Mayo Clinic faculty, with new modules on Long Reads and AI for Digital Pathology. This study aims to develop and validate new methods to diagnose tinnitus (“ringing in the ears”). Adults without tinnitus between the age of 30-70 years are sought for a two-hour behavioral study and four-hour brain wave recording. Free parking and compensation are provided. Healthy adults ages 18-40 with no hearing loss but significant difficulty hearing in noise are invited for a study on listening in noise. There is an online survey to determine eligibility, followed by lab visits for those who qualify. Lab visits include hearing screening, listening to sounds and measuring ear and brain activity. There is a maximum of three lab visits, each lasting 2-3 hours. Compensation for lab visits is paid in cash ($15 per hour). Parking is covered, and mileage is reimbursed ($0.655 per mile, up to a maximum of 37.5 miles per visit). To participate, complete our survey.
