Windows Machines Impacted by CrowdStrike Incident

On Friday morning, July 19, we were made aware of a globally-impacting technical issue with CrowdStrike software that may have caused Windows computers to be unresponsive and display the “blue screen of death." We continue to work with and are supporting local IT staff with this issue. If your university-owned computer is experiencing issues, please contact your local IT support

Feedback for new and revised policies in the Campus Administrative Manual

A new policy has been posted to the CAM Website: Pregnancy and Related Conditions. This policy will replace the Nursing Mothers in the Workplace Act policy (HR-49). A revised policy has been posted to the CAM Website: University Vehicle Signage. A revised policy has been posted to the CAM Website: Sex-Based Misconduct. This policy will replace the Sexual Misconduct policy (HR-79).

Illini Union elevator outage

Due to the Illini Union roofing project, there will be an elevator outage for the north passenger elevators from 6 a.m. Monday, July 22, through 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 24. During this time, any person requiring elevator access to the 2nd or 3rd floors on the north side can coordinate with the Building Operations Coordinator.

Apply to the 2024-2025 Illinois Leadership Center "Faculty Fellows" Program

The Illinois Leadership Center is now accepting applications for the 2024 – 2025 "Faculty Fellows" Program. The ILC Faculty Fellows are a group of leadership scholars interested in leadership research and education.  A discretionary fund of $2,500 per year will be given to each fellow to support their leadership research. Accessible Signage Standards Update for Construction and Service Requests

Per the Illinois Accessibility Code, specific requirements must be in place for the visual characters of required signage. This state law applies to identification, wayfinding and more. The F&S Architectural Review Committee recently selected Atkinson Hyperlegible as the new code-compliant university standard typeface for future work. Library Friends Webinar: Harold Osborn: 1922 Illinois Grad, 1924 and 1928

At the 1924 Games, Harold Osborn ’22 ACES, leaped to the pinnacle of his track and field career, earning a gold medal in the high jump and, just days later, another gold in the decathlon. In all of Olympic history, no athlete has won gold in the same Games in the decathlon and another event, a distinction that earned Osborn being named the “greatest athlete in the world” by an admiring press.

Allerton Park's Irish Fest concert returns from 6 - 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, on the Gatehouse Lawn. This outdoor concert will feature traditional Irish bands Turas (6 p.m.) and On the Lash (7:30 p.m.) performing new takes on classic songs. Program Pilot: Professional Development for STEM environments

Labs and departments are invited to participate in pilots of Labs That Work For Everyone, a professional development program created for STEM environments in partnership with HHMI. Get Involved in Paid Research into Sitting and Brain Health

Looking for adults ages 60-75 to participate in a study into prolonged sitting and how adults think. The study's aim is to test the feasibility of interrupting sitting with short bouts of high-intensity exercise in older adults and measure brain and cognitive functions before and after sitting.
