New Collaborative International R&D Grant Program

The University of Illinois System and the University Academic Alliance in Taiwan are seeking joint research projects in the areas of next-generation semiconductor (+quantum), AI and data for human well-being, and sustainability, with funding of up to $150,000 available per project. An information and partnering webinar is scheduled for 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. July 23. Microsoft 365 Default Sharing Link Change

Starting July 8, the default sharing link for files in Microsoft 365 will be “People you choose.” The default sharing link setting will no longer be "People in University of Illinois Champaign Urbana." This will affect files that are shared from Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business. You will still have the option to select other types of links.

2024 NAPRRS/NC229: International Conference of Swine Viral Diseases

Registration is open for this two-day international conference that brings together members of the swine disease community, including researchers, industry professionals and field practitioners. This year’s meeting will include six plenary scientific sessions, translational workshop, poster session and more. Early registration and abstract submission deadlines are Friday, July 19.

Master Gardeners Offering Tours of Idea Garden

A guided tour of Champaign County Master Gardeners’ Idea Garden is scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2024. No registration is required. We will meet at the west entrance to the garden, near the parking lot. Parking is free on Saturday on Lincoln Avenue. The Idea Garden is located in the Arboretum at 2000 South Lincoln Avenue in Urbana. The tour will be canceled if there is rain.

Open Studio Figure Drawing at Allerton Park

Artists of all levels and abilities are invited to experience drawing a live model at Figure Drawing Open Studio from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday, July 15. The open studio format will allow students to work independently, with minimal guidance from facilitator Vivian Krishnan. Help make the Next Alcohol Fitbit! The Alcohol Research Lab is looking for participants for a validation study of transdermal biosensing bracelets. Participation involves attending three laboratory sessions, wearing a transdermal bracelet and filling out surveys for two weeks. Up to $300 in compensation for participation.

Maternal Mindfulness to prevent depression and reduce postpartum pain

Are you a Latina woman who had a planned cesarean delivery in the past 12 months? We are looking for women (ages 18-45) to help us develop a mindfulness intervention for Latina women who plan to deliver by cesarean. Older Adults with Cognitive Impairment

We are exploring challenges encountered in daily activities for older adults (60+) with a history of a stroke. If you or someone you know is experiencing difficulty with thinking, memory or concentration, we would like to learn from your experiences via videochat to develop solutions. Looking for Friend Groups Ages 21-30 to Participate in Alcohol Research!

The Alcohol Research Lab is looking for social drinkers to participate in our study. Participation involves attending one 6- to 9-hour laboratory session and completing cognitive, social and communicative tasks while EEG brain responses are recorded. A referral of at least one same-gender friend is required at the time of sign up. Up to $100 in compensation.

Get Involved in Paid Research into Sitting and Brain Health

Looking for adults ages 60-75 to participate in a study into prolonged sitting and how adults think. The study's aim is to test the feasibility of interrupting sitting with short bouts of high-intensity exercise in older adults and measure brain and cognitive functions before and after sitting. Electric Vehicle Evacuation Survey

The survey participant will be placed in a mandatory flooding evacuation order scenario using an electric vehicle and go through a series of choice experiments for evacuation routing and en-route charging to a safe zone/destination.
