COVID Tests

In March, we sent out an update about COVID-19 Isolation Guidelines that aligned with the CDC. As of March 6, the federal government ended the free-by-mail at-home COVID tests. As we treat COVID like other respiratory viruses, including flu and RSV, McKinley will discontinue providing free COVID tests to faculty and staff on May 17. Tests are available at pharmacies and local stores if needed.

The 2024 Campus Space Survey reporting period will be June 3 through July 12. Once the survey opens, facility liaisons and business managers can complete the annual required inventory through the ARCHIBUS Web Central online portal. LOVE FOR ALL(erton) Concert June 14

Celebrate Pride Month at LOVE FOR ALLerton from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, June 14, on the Gatehouse Lawn. It will feature the music of emily the band (6 p.m.) and New York-based pop rock band Homeschool (7:30 p.m). $5 per person or $10 per family, payable upon arrival. The concert will also feature a vendor fair featuring LGBTQ+ artists and makers. Apply here.

Garden Tour May 18 at Allerton

Allerton Park has 14 formal gardens created by Robert Allerton between 1899 and 1946. Join us for Third Saturday Garden Tours (April through October*) from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. May 18 and experience the beauty of each garden while learning the history behind its creation. Garden tours start at the Greenhouse Patio and last between 45 and 60 minutes. $5 per person (5 and under free). Register here.

3D Printing, modeling and Minecraft camps at the Illinois Makerlab

Our Summer camps including Minecraft, 3D printing and 3D modeling are open for registration. Each camp is a five-day camp with three hours each day, with a maximum of six campers so you get individual attention. Typical camp hours are 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. You can double up and sign up for two camps in a week, and we have provisions for early drop-off and late pickup until 5 p.m.

Voice Vitals Depression and Anxiety Study: Participants Receive $20

Are you interested in a study involving research that will lead to advances in screening, treatment and care of Major Depressive Disorder and Anxiety Disorder? We are looking for men and women >30 years old with or without shoulder pain to participate in a study aimed at determining why shoulder pain is more intense and common in women. The Alcohol Research Lab is looking for social drinkers to participate in our study. Participation involves attending one 6-to-9-hour laboratory session and completing cognitive, social and communicative tasks while EEG brain responses are recorded. Get Involved in Paid Research into Sitting and Brain Health

Looking for adults aged 60-75 to participate in a study into prolonged sitting and how adults think. The study's aim is to test the feasibility of interrupting sitting with short bouts of high-intensity exercise in older adults and measure brain and cognitive functions before and after sitting.
