Tuesday test of Campus Emergency notification on Illinois homepage

We will be publicly testing the Campus Emergency notification system on the campus homepage at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 1. The campus homepage will briefly display a campus emergency notification with links to an emergency information page. The alert will be clearly labeled as a test and the campus homepage should be restored to normal status within a few minutes.

Campus Spill Containment Exercise – October 20

F&S, the Division of Public Safety, and the Champaign Fire Department will conduct a spill containment exercise on Thursday, Oct. 20, at 10 a.m. Event organizers will place the dye in storm drains near the university's oil storage tanks on South Oak Street to simulate a large oil spill from the fuel farm during this year's mock scenario. The exercise is required annually by the U.S. EPA.

Drive Drive with ECL @ Illinois and United Way

ECL@Illinois is hosting a diaper drive for the Bottom Line Diaper Bank, which distributes 10,000+ diapers per month to Champaign County families. We aim to collect a month’s worth of diapers (or more!) during August because no family should start the school year worrying about having enough diapers. Collection boxes are at the ARC and the Union, or you can purchase diapers from Amazon. Thank you!

Sunrise Hike at Allerton Park

As summer starts to wind down, take time to enjoy the season’s natural beauty with a guided hike through Allerton. Staff member Olivia Bunting will lead participants along the Buck Schroth (Red) Trail through views of the Sangamon River, wooded areas, and one of Illinois’ oldest prairie restoration sites. The hike will begin at 7 a.m. and be about a 3-mile loop. $5/person. Register here
