The proposal to rename the building received final approval from the Board of Trustees this year, following a recommendation from the Chancellor and the Vice President of the U of I System. Americans are some of the world’s biggest consumers of black teas; in Japan, green tea, especially sencha, is preferred. This talk will explain how these national partialities are deeply entwined.
