NCFDD Faculty Success Program Application- Due by May 10

The Office of the Provost provides limited funding assistance to tenure-line faculty who are interested in participating in NCFDD’s Faculty Success Program. Up to 8 recipients (5 pre-Tenure & 3 post-Tenure faculty) will be selected to receive matching funds. Full-time, tenure-line faculty members at Illinois are eligible to apply. Applicants may receive these matching funds only once.

Allerton taking fall Artist-In-Residence applications

Allerton Park and Retreat Center is taking applications for the fall session of its Fall Artist-In-Residence program. Recipients stay for two to six weeks at the park and explore ideas for their craft while immersing themselves in nature. A stipend is included. The Many Lives of a Japanese Classic: Sei Shōnagon’s Pillow Book

The corpus of literary works by accomplished/educated women writers emerged during the Heian period (794–1185) in Japan played a critical role in the creation of a national literary tradition. Despite their seeming timelessness, these texts have elicited criticism and received praise over the centuries. SCOPE: Soluble Corn Fiber for Promoting Executive Function Study

This study involves adults ages 45-75 years consuming two different supplements daily for two separate four-week periods. Participation involves collection of stool samples and diet records. Participants will complete surveys and computer tasks (over 6 visits of 1.5 to 2.5 hours each) to assess thinking ability. The study will take ~13 weeks total.
