Designing Effective Visual Aids Workshop

Well-designed presentations are about balance. The problem? Balance is a hard thing to find. How much text is too much? How do I decide on a color palette? How do I craft a coherent visual narrative? Join the Speaking Center for this virtual workshop to learn the answers to these questions and much more, including practical skills for creating a standout slide deck. This workshop is limited to undergraduate and graduate students, and pre-registration is required.

Help beautify campus and properly dispose of trash and recyclables! This is a great volunteer opportunity — bring your friends and help clean up. Monica Lewinsky is a producer, social activist, global public speaker, and contributing editor to Vanity Fair. Her focus is on storytelling that moves the conversation forward—around shame, reclaiming identities, and justice for women. As an activist, Lewinsky advocates for a safer social media environment and addresses such topics as digital resilience, privacy, and cultivating compassion online. Come listen to her speak on the issue of cyberbullying as part of the Illini Union Board Speaker Series.

Women in Science Lecture Series: Dr. Marni Boppart

Please join us for the University Archives' monthly Women in Science Lecture Series, April 11 from 12 -1 pm. Dr. Marni Boppart, Professor and Director of Strategic Initiatives for Kinesiology and Community Health, will share her research on understanding muscle repair and using that knowledge to create interventions to help prevent muscle loss in a variety of contexts.
