CEE GSAC Needs Environmental and EWES Representatives
Due to many current GSAC members reaching the term limit this year, we are looking for a new EES and EWES reps! Both MS and PhD students are welcome! Also, note, that you do not have to be doing research to be a rep. The CEE Graduate Student Advisory Council (GSAC) acts as the bridge between the graduate student body and the department. Made of 10 members (one from each discipline), GSAC relays feedback to the department about CEE graduate student experiences and issues, year-round as well as through a yearly survey. GSAC also puts on CEE-wide social and professional events to foster community across all CEE disciplines. Perks of being a CEE GSAC rep include: - The opportunity to be the voice for your emphasis and make improvements to the department - The ability to build a better CEE community and host special events - Networking with students in other emphases and prospective students - Special face time with faculty and the Director of Graduate Studies - Free food - A leadership position to include on a resume for a job What you would do as a CEE GSAC rep: - Attend monthly meetings as a council - Hold a director position including events, communication, and advocacy - Be receptive to feedback from students and faculty in your emphasis - Meet with your area faculty chair once a semester or year - Attend events hosted by CEE GSAC If you're interested in being a rep, please let me know by February 28, 2025.
