At Uni High, we strive to foster an environment where everyone, inclusive of race, color, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, political beliefs, ability, language, and religion, will feel welcome, visible, and heard.

Uni's 2025 Orientation Potluck in the Park will be held on Sunday, Aug. 17, from 5-7 p.m., in AMBUCS Park in Urbana.  In case of rain, the event will be held the following day, Monday, August 18, from 5-7 p.m., at AMBUCS Park. Be on the lookout for an email with a Signup Genius link later this summer!  

Need a break from studying during finals week? Visit the library and participate in fun activities such as: collaging, coloring, and board games. Harrison will also bring in his Nintendo Switch console, so feel free to bring in all your favorite games to play!

It is important to remember that finals is a busy and stressful time for many students. Anyone looking for silent working spaces are welcome in both the fiction and nonfiction rooms. All activities and socializing must remain in the front room, and any patron creating excessive noise will be asked to leave. Thank you for understanding!

Track and Field State Qualifiers.   Congratulations to both Frances Burlew and Jack Trisler for winning the Shot Put and Discus at Sectionals, advancing onto State Championships.   Both Burlew and Trisler now hold Uni High's 8th grade school record in both events and are looking for great days at State.   In High School, the girls 4 X 800 relay team composed of Shriya Nagaraj, Ella Ylagan, Cadence Scheunemann and Clara Knutson finished 3rd at Sectionals earning a birth to State Championships.  

The PTSA would like to recognize Dr. Majerus as this year's recipient of the Susan Kovacs Award, and our treasurer, Anita Ung, as this year's recipient of the Colin Thorn Award.  Thanks to each of you for the valuable roles you have played in the Uni community and in our PTSA!  We would also like to recognize Cathy Elliott, Ponnu Ponnappa, and Cyndi Smyser as nominees for this year's Colin Thorn Award.  Thanks to each of these individuals for their dedicated service to our school and PTSA!

I just wanted to thank the staff and students who came out to support the Uni Boys Tennis team for Senior Night versus STM on May 14. It was great to have your support, and it was pretty special for our seniors in one of their last home matches this season. 

We would love to have your support again at sectionals next Friday and Saturday, May 23 and 24 at Lindsay Courts near Centennial HS. Play begins Friday at 11 a.m. The tennis team is looking to advance all four sectional teams to the state tournament for the first time in program history.

The PTSA would like to thank and recognize our "graduating" PTSA senior class reps, at-large reps, and officers: Dianna Black, Maria Garzaran, Heather Ting, Anita Ung, and Oktay Urcan.  Thank you for your service and your friendship these past five years!  We will miss you!  We also wish to congratulate Uni's graduating senior StudCo reps and officers: David Black, Mary Alice Klein, Ana Olson, Callie Standerfer, and Joseph Torrellas.  We appreciate our growing partnership with StudCo and we look forward to coordinating future events with StudCo's 2025-2026 executive officers. 

Uni’s Main Office summer hours will begin on Monday, June 16. During the period of summer hours, the office will be open 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday, closed Friday. Regular hours will resume on Monday, Aug. 4.
