X-Week is a series of fundraising events for a local charity! This year all proceeds will be donated to CU at Home. X-Week will be from April 3-11. This year's events include:
• Big Show
• Dunk Tank: get a chance to dunk your teachers and fellow students!
• NAHS Matcha & Crafts fundraiser
• Dollar Drive: class competition to win a class popsicle party!
• Girls Soccer game concessions

The PTSA will hold its next general meeting on Wednesday, April 16, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in DCL 1320.  Everyone is welcome!   We will be voting on a full slate of candidates for next year's executive board, and we will also be voting on whether to amend our bylaws by adding this final sentence to Article I: "This PTSA is incorporated under the laws of the State of Illinois."   Other topics of discussion will be our May Teacher Appreciation Week festivities, our Disorientation Pizza Party, and our end-of-school luncheon for Uni staff.  Please join us!

Uni High is searching for new head and assistant girls swim coaches in the fall of 2025.   These are paid positions and must be available Monday to Friday 4-6 p.m..  Please reach out to Athletic Director Kyle Hummel if you know of anyone interested.  KHummel@illinois.edu 

The 2025 Chang/Kolodziej Writing Competition is now accepting entries from students at all grade levels in Fiction and Nonfiction. The deadline for submissions is the end of the day Monday, April 14, and winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on May 12. A small update has been made to the 2024-2025 Student-Parent Handbook, which can be found on the Uni website under "Resources." A link to a more detailed description of our Mission and Vision was added at the top of p. 8. 

Distinguished professor of biochemistry; Investigator, Howard Hughes Medical Institute; BioFrontiers Institute; University of Colorado Boulder will speak on the magic of RNA, more than just a messenger.  There will be a reception with book signing to follow the talk.

The Illinois Mathematics Lab (IML, formerly IGL) - Uni summer research collaboration is a chance for Uni students to experience mathematical research while working as a part of a small group led by a UIUC graduate math student. Research groups meet in-person on the UIUC campus for 9 hours each week. The program will run from June 2-27 this summer.  If you would like to apply please complete this application by April 18, 2025.  If you have any questions, please see or email Ms. Runkel or Ms. Avila.

Uni Seniors, Mark your calendar for Senior Supper, which will be held on the evening of Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the IHotel & Conference Center. We will be contacting you soon with details on how to RSVP and to gather additional information needed for the planning process, so please keep an eye out. It is very important that you RSVP for this event so that we may appropriately plan.

The PTSA has extended the deadline for contributing to our new cookbook: "Uni_ted Around the Table: Celebrating Uni Kitchen."  We hope to feature a “Potluck Dishes” section, a “Seniors" section of family favorites for students to take to college, and a “Freshman Pie Contest” section, but we need your recipes to make these sections possible!  Please submit your recipe(s) along with a brief note about the significance of the dish(es) and appropriate section(s) by May 1 to: https://createmycookbook.com/projects/uHW6EbAxo
