Uni's Fine Arts Department will be hosting a Fine Arts Open House on Wednesday, Sept. 18 beginning at 5 p.m. in the South Attic. Guests will be invited to view student art, listen to student music, and watch a portion of the student rehearsal (for You Can't Take It With You) going on in the North Attic. We will also discuss the new Fine Arts parent support group moving forward - including topics such as naming the group and creating a logo. Homemade cookies will be served from 6 - 6:15 p.m.. We hope to see you there!

Join Harrison and Kathleen for the library's first Crafternoon of the year! We will gather in the library after school to paint bookends, eat snacks, and socialize. No registration required. This is a great opportunity to unwind with your classmates and get to know library staff better, so we hope to see you there.
P.S. Once your bookend dries, we'll display it in the library. :D

Uni students and staff, please come out to the Uni Green Space for our 4th Annual Moon Festival celebration during lunch on Friday, Sept. 20! We will have food (provided by generous parent donors and catered with Makino funds) and entertainment from students and local performers.

Senior Student Council and SFAC are excited to announce Uni High Homecoming 2024! It will be held at Alice Campbell Alumni Center on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 7-10 p.m. Tickets will be available for purchase at the dance for $10. 
There will be a limit of 20 outside guests. Please visit the main office to pick up your form; it will be first come first served. Guest forms will be due to Ms. Hughes on or before Sept. 20.

Join us for the annual Sprabitat Club dodgeball tournament! Dress up with your selected team, and play rounds of dodgeball for chances to win some prizes. No matter your level of Dodgeball skill or intensity, it's a really fun time! 
The entry fee is $5 per person at the door with all proceeds going to Fuller Center for Housing.

The St. Elmo Brady program (a partnership between Uni, U. of I. and local schools) has a new afterschool project this semester. Volunteers will lead activities related to the chemical kinetics of enzymes, with topics including color, concentration, spectrophotometry, and more! If you’re interested in volunteering and are generally available Thursdays 3:30 - 4:30, please complete this Google form. No chemistry expertise is required to volunteer.

If you are interested in signing up for the AMC 10/12 this year, please use the provided link.  This year the Math Department will be supporting the A, and we have a donor who has agreed to help support the B test, so Uni will be able to host both rounds of the test this year. (Thank you to our donor!)  The AMC 10/12 A is offered on Wed., Nov. 6, 2024. The AMC 10/12 B is offered on Tues., Nov. 12, 2024. Only students signed up for the test will be able to participate. Deadline to sign up is Sept. 16. 

The Uni Athletic Booster club is happy to announce that the Uni Apparel Store is now open through midnight on Sept 16. This is a great way to order Uni sweatshirts and t-shirts.  You can decide whether to pick-up your items at Dixon Graphics or ship them to your house. If you'd like to sign up for a Uni lunch plan for Quarter 2, please complete this form by Tuesday, Oct. 1. Our Quarter 2 lunch menus are available here. For Quarter 2, we'll be offering a 3-day (Mon./Wed./Fri.) plan ($177.60) and a 5-day (Mon.-Fri.) plan ($303.40). Checks made out to "University of Illinois" should be dropped off in Uni's main office by Friday, Oct. 18, or you can call 217-333-2870 to pay by phone. Lunch plans are available at no cost to students with full or partial fee waivers.

Sept. 15 - Oct. 15 is Latinx Heritage Month, also commonly called National Hispanic Heritage Month! La Casa Cultural Latina, the University of Illinois, and community groups are offering dozens of events throughout the month to celebrate Latinx cultures and communities.
