Reminder: AAPI Heritage Month Poster Contest

To celebrate several cultural heritage months in 2024, MPAG is hosting a series of student poster competitions. Student artists, help Uni celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month this May by submitting your original art for our second poster competition! We invite you to share original poster art submissions highlighting the historical and/or cultural contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans at https://forms.gle/az6LQZwkAaRYAgLj6 by April 22. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will receive monetary prizes of $75, $50, and $25, respectively.

Uni High Athletics update

Boys Tennis: Congrats to the Boys Winning the Bloomington High Tennis Invite. Aryan Sachdev finished 2nd in the top singles bracket along with fellow teammate Mason Miao finished 2nd in the second singles bracket.   Double partners Ian Pan and Robert Gao Finished 2nd in their doubles bracket.  Teammates Shreyas Singh and Collins Rosch also finished 2nd in their doubles bracket.  Uni won the 14 team tournament by two points over St. Charles North.  
Girls Soccer competed in the 80team Urbana High tournament over the weekend and SR Sophie Anderson earned all tournament team.

Information for Apr. 19 Community Connections Day at BTW

Students, families, and staff, please remember that on Fri., Apr. 19, Uni High will be joining Booker T. Washington STEM Academy for an all-school celebration with a series of Uni-led activities related to water and Earth Day inspired by UIUC alumnus St. Elmo Brady. Students should be dropped off by 8:30am at Douglass Community Center (512 E Grove St, Champaign), and will be bussed back to Uni in the afternoon. Uni will have an early dismissal at 1:45pm on Apr. 19. Details about the day are available here.

SafeBAE Summer Activist Institute

SafeBAE, a student-led national organization committed to preventing sexual violence among teens, is seeking applicants for their upcoming Summer Activist Institute, a funded 3-day trip to Southern Maine Community College. During the Institute, students will be mentored by a college student activist, participate in educational workshops, and engage in collaborative sessions to draft proposals for community prevention plans! SafeBAE's aim is to empower teens to become advocates for change in their communities and beyond. If you're interested in attending, apply here.

Illinois Mathematics Lab - Uni Summer Research Collaboration

The Illinois Mathematics Lab (IML, formerly IGL) - Uni summer research collaboration is a chance for Uni students to experience mathematical research while working as a part of a small group led by a UIUC graduate math student. Research groups meet in-person on the UIUC campus for 9 hours each week.
