Japanese Storytime: When the Sakura Bloom
Join the library for a reading of When the Sakura Bloom, "an understated ode to an iconic Japanese cultural celebration, mindfulness, and the restorative power of the seasons". (Kirkus Review) Special guest, Kyoko Sawada, will present in Japanese and English. All students are welcome to listen and browse in-library books about cherry blossoms.

The 2024 Chang/Kolodziej Writing Competition is accepting submissions
The 2024 Chang-Kolodziej Writing Competition is accepting entries in Fiction and Nonfiction. The deadline for submissions is the end of the day Monday, April 15, and winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on Monday, May 13. To celebrate several cultural heritage months in 2024, MPAG is hosting a series of student poster competitions. Student artists, help Uni celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month this May by submitting your original art for our second poster competition! We invite you to share original poster art submissions highlighting the historical and/or cultural contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans at https://forms.gle/az6LQZwkAaRYAgLj6 by Apr. 22. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will receive monetary prizes of $75, $50, and $25, respectively.

Illinois Mathematics Lab - Uni Summer Research Collaboration
The Illinois Mathematics Lab (IML, formerly IGL) - Uni summer research collaboration is a chance for Uni students to experience mathematical research while working as a part of a small group led by a UIUC graduate math student. Research groups meet in-person on the UIUC campus for 9 hours each week. The program will run from July 8 - August 2 this summer. Parent Fund Progress Update
We are excited to share that the current household participation rate in support of the Uni High Parent Fund has reached 42%. Last time we reported our progress in the UniWeek we were at 32% participation. That is a 31% increase in giving! THANK YOU Uni Families for your continued support as we continue to work towards our goal of 100% participation among Uni households. Only two more months remain to make a gift for the 23-24 school year!
