Many Graduate College workshops can be requested by student groups, postdoc organizations, faculty, and departments. These workshops introduce grad students and postdocs to important topics related to their professional and career development. August 7, 5pm, is the deadline to add or drop (with a "W") a SF (12 wk), POT 1 Ind Study, S2 (8 wk), or S2B (4 wk) course (Late Registration Change via the Graduate College Student Portal); and the last day to withdraw from ALL courses if not also registered for S1 or S2A (prior 4 wk sessions) with “W’s” recorded (form and dept approval required; ISSS approval for international students). Sandia National Laboratories offer the Truman and Hruby postdoctoral fellowships to support research relating to Sandia's national security mission. Fellows work in Albuquerque, NM or Livermore, CA on advancing cutting-edge science and technology. Annual salary: $123,000 (NM) or $139,600 (CA). Are you a graduate teaching assistant with international students in your course? This session offers practical guidance and foundational knowledge for campus professionals who work with international students. Topics will include common challenges international students face—such as immigration regulations, academic expectations, language barriers, cultural adjustment, and emotional well-being—as well as the campus and community resources available to support them. Attendees will also gain clarity on their own role in helping students navigate these challenges with empathy and confidence.
