December Doctoral Hooding Ceremony - Important Deadlines This Week!
The Graduate College Doctoral Hooding Ceremony will take place on Saturday, December 9 in the Foellinger Great Hall at the Krannert Center for Performing Arts. Two important deadlines for the ceremony are this week! The last day to register for the ceremony is November 7. The last day to order rental regalia at a discounted price is November 8. November 10 is the last day to change a course to the credit/no-credit grading option for a semester course or to change from the CR/NC grading option to a regular grade. Rest Lab is a pop-up space at Krannert Art Museum designed to encourage resting with intention. Rest Lab happens once every semester and occupies a gallery within the museum that is ‘resting’ between shows. It is a unique invitation to take up space in the museum by using the gallery to consider what resting means, and what it could look like.

Writers Workshop Graduate Writing Groups
Finish the semester the "write" way! Our hybrid writing group provides graduate students with dedicated time to make progress on thesis or dissertation writing in a supportive atmosphere. Each meeting consists of a short goal-setting conversation, quiet writing time, and a concluding reflection and wrap-up. Use this time to create or return to a writing routine, make progress and meet deadlines on long-term projects, or jump-start a new writing project. Gain Delta Supercomputing Allocations Through ACCESS
NCSA’s Delta offers GPU-accelerated computing and data resources with access to CPU resources and storage. UIUC researchers can easily obtain Delta allocations through ACCESS at any time for 3 different tiers. Explore ACCESS is the simplest allocation, requiring only a brief project description to obtain credits that can be used on Delta. Large allocation requests should be submitted during the Maximize ACCESS period Dec. 15–Jan. 31. Awards begin April 1. The first half of this globally inspired program, “Folk Encounters,” pairs Su Lian Tan’s evocation of traditional South Asian puppet theatre with Wynton Marsalis’ exploration of the complicated American Creole experience through the lens of a New Orleans ball. The program finishes with folk-inspired chamber music by Dvořák. Dvořák’s exuberant Viola Quintet reflects the composer’s delight in finding kinship between the folk music of America and his beloved homeland of Czechoslovakia.
